Copping with a loved ones death is the most difficult part of life. Unfortunately, it has also introduced financial burdens during this time of profound loss. The family and this community have lost one of its most precious members.  Darling Julia Angel-Marie Rivas is physically gone.  Her spirit is carried through us by memory.  The family wishes to preserve her memory to the best of their ability. All of your donations, large or small will go to these efforts.  Please come together to help us provide the most elegant and comforting place to remember Ventura’s little sister.

Julia Angel-Marie Rivas went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2011.

Our precious daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece and aunt, joins her Grandmother Rita Joanne Moreno and cousins Gregory Alexander Smith, who preceded her in her journey.

As difficult as it is to write a life story of someone so young, it would be impossible to understate the impact she had on the hearts of so many lives she touched. To know her was to love her.

Julia was a lifetime Ventura resident and loved her community and family of friends here. She attended Pierpont Elementary, Cabrillo Middle School, Ventura High, and was enrolled in her second semester of Ventura Collage where she planned to complete the requirements needed for transferring to a four year university.

With her infectious laughter and illuminating smile, Julia was truly a joy to be around. Among her many gifts, she was a talented pianist, artist, writer, and "shuffler". She had an eye for detail and aesthetic beauty, which combined with her knack for technology made her an outstanding photographer.

Her eclectic tastes in music and fashion were admired by the many that were proud to call her "my friend". Julia never had a harsh word to say to anyone and was a constant reminder to treat others as we would have them treat us. Julia had sensibilities for loyalty and fairness that displayed wisdom well beyond her years.

Words cannot express the depth of our loss. This town, her family and her wide family of friends will never be the same without her. We are eternally grateful for having had the great fortune and privilege of spending 19 years in her company and we take solace knowing she is in the loving arms of the Lord, dancing in the heavens and smiling down at us all. Rest in peace, precious Angel and know that you were adored beyond measure.

A Time for Everything, A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace and a time to refrain He hath made everything beautiful in his time; also He has set the world in their hearts, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end Ecclesiastes 3: 4, 5 and 11
